On today's WTJX NewsFeed, during his declaration of a state of emergency, Governor Albert Bryan Jr authorized the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs to implement a price freeze on water for the island of St. Croix. The Water and Power Authority Governing Board of Directors voted to increase CEO Andrew Smith’s financial delegation of authority. Kyle Fleming, WAPA's Governing Board Chairman, speaks about the reason for the increase. Members of the 35th Legislature voted on Bill 35-0099 proposed by Senator Marise James which aims to establish a time limit after which certain mortgages and other security interests would expire on paid property.
