WAPA accuses the Public Services Commission of disregarding operational realities in its decision to reduce the LEAC. The Commission cited overcollection and a lack of accountability as justification for the reduction. Governor Roach issued a public statement last month asserting that he learned through the media of Haldane Davies’ appointment to serve as the Director of the BER, Governor Bryan countered in a VI Consortium interview last night that he told Roach of the move prior to Davies’ appointment. The Economic Development Authority is appealing to lawmakers for increased budget funding, pointing to the need for increased staffing to meet demands and expand its impact on the territory’s economy. A man has been arrested on attempted murder charges following an April shooting in Estate Upper Love.
